My first attempt and success at cooking vegan! Yummy carrot muffins from this recipe (minus the oat bran because I couldn’t find that). The carrots I used were also chopped mini carrots, since I couldn’t figure out how to grate them. Regardless, the muffins are delicious, especially with a dab of peanut butter.

I’ve realized genderfluid might be a label that fits me. I’ve come across it before, but didn’t pay much attention until recently. But it explains some confusing things, like the fact that I get dysphoria, but not to the point of being uncomfortable with my biological sex. I also feel it explains my interest in unisex clothes, and clothes of both sexes.

I’ve still got thinking to do, and I feel like I constantly question labels I choose. But so much makes sense now, and knowing that word, having that definition really helps.

I relate, oh so much. Fuck the haters. It just sucks that words and assumptions are still a bother and even hurtful, despite being from complete strangers.

Pretty certain I’ll grow out my hair, at least to shoulder length or so.

Hopefully I won’t dislike it too much, since short hair really is awesome.

I may keep it for a while, or until I live somewhere that isn’t a conservative hole.

Though going to a bigger college in a liberal area might help.

One more semester at my annoying small college populated in large part by homophobic xenophobic assholes who are presumably conservative.

I really don’t want to give a fuck. I try not to give a fuck.

But sometimes stuff just gets to me, or lingers in my mind. Even if I brush it off initially.

I shouldn’t care about strangers opinions or stupid assumptions, and on an individual level I don’t.

But it just paints a shitty picture of my school, of my town.

So much hate and lack of acceptance.

I’m not only upset for what happens to me, though that is part of it.

But I’m also upset for what it says about the people, what future generations will be taught, what they will think.

My own generation around here is evidence. Twenty somethings full of judgement and scorn, for what they assume based on looks.

Though some may make comments or wonder out of curiosity, I often hear disgust in a voice or see it in a face.

It’s hard to have hope, with the people I encounter around here.

But other places are more accepting, and the country as a whole is slowly becoming more accepting.

Because of that, I can have hope.

Looking for Anthropology majors

I’m wanting some new people to follow. Specifically, Anthropology majors, or anyone with a significant interesting in Anthropology. I’m not picky on subfields, though for my major I’m thinking of focusing on linguistics or cultural stuff. Still far away from a bachelors though, let alone a masters or anything higher. Still, like this or send me a message if you’re interested in Anthropology and want me to check out your tumblr!

Social Insight

I never knew how much time I could (enjoyably) waste on Tumblr until I gave up Facebook for a few days.

Then I realized what a truly wasteful, boring time sucker Facebook is. Therefore, I have minimized my Facebook use and extended my Tumblr use.

Granted, Tumblr is a way of wasting time as well. I could easily spend hours on here. But unlike Facebook, Tumblr is full of useful, relevant information. Sure, there’s plenty of cats, porn, and funny gifs if you want that stuff. But there’s also recipes, and links and opinions on current events and politics.

Tumblr is great for voicing your views, as well as finding like-minded people and posts that interest you. Facebook is great for seeing your friends whine about shit no one else really cares about.

I can look on Tumblr and enjoy what I see, as well as occasionally read thought-provoking posts. Not so much with Facebook.

I’ve lost some weight after giving up meat, unintentionally. Not much, around 5 pounds. But I’ve lost some muscle mass too, and that bothers me. I used to have some decent arm strength and even ab strength in high school. But I was in color guard, and we worked out five days a week. I want to work out, and gain back the strength I used to have. It’s difficult to motivate myself, and I worry about getting enough protein to build muscle. But nothing will happen if I don’t try.
